440A steel
440A is a fine, popular type of steel. It is corrosion resistant and easy to sharpen. It won't retain its sharpness for a really long time, but this is compensated by the fact that 440A is quite tough and easy to sharpen. This means you only occasionally have to maintain it a little to make sure you always keep a sharp knife close.
High Plains handle
The handle is made from High Plains bone This is cow bone that is enhanced with a texture and then coloured. This material has been used for over 100 years for knife handles and has become a traditional on its own. Bone, of course, is a natural material. As such small differences in terms of colour and shape, or any other small imperfections may occur. In this case the texture might remind you of the rolling hills in the landscape of the high plains in the United States.
